Albert Fennell

Growing up in San Diego, Albert Fennell's artistic talents were discovered at an early age. In sixth grade, his landscape picture was displayed in the San Diego Museum of Art as a result of a school competition. Fennell studied fine arts at San Diego Mesa College, where he also was a successful track athlete. He also studied commercial drawing at San Diego City College and took additional courses at Alexander's School of Drawing, Printing, and Design. After college, he joined the Navy, where he was involved in the recovery of the Skylab II space capsule.

Using oil, pastels, and pen and ink, Albert Fennell created pieces that convey a feeling of the beauty and grace of women. Fennell's art was also influenced by his love of music and his interest in African culture. Fennell passed away in 2002.
